Lenticulars

TT_DSC2753 copy.jpg

Do you remember as a kid playing with picture cards that when you tilted them one way, would reveal one image and when turned another way, would reveal something else? I made some large-scale versions here, meant to be viewed from different angles.

The boundaries or borders that the heroes in this exhibition advocate to push beyond include the limits of faith, gender, discrimination, racism, and other forces that oppress and hold people back. Seen from a different angle, these limits can also present opportunities to change, to unleash forces that affirm acceptance and compassion, even for those with whom we might disagree. The heroes shown here see possibility and promise, inspiring me to celebrate diversity, dissent, and the will to create a better future.
