From ancient times, agroforestry was the way of life in Hawaii. It is now recognized to be the most advanced ecological example of land management and biodiverse food production in the history of civilization. I believe a wrong turn was taken when agriculture was industrialized.

There is currently a REBIRTH in Hawaiian agricultural communities demonstrating the advocacy for agroforestry and sustainability.
