Rudy Espinoza is concerned that street vendors, already vulnerable and treated as second-class citizens, are especially hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic. They represent an important sector of Los Angeles’s economy and remain an important component of local business eco-systems.

They support local businesses, hire local workers, and often serve as the sole source of retail food in under- invested neighborhoods. The success of the LA Street Vendor Campaign illustrates the power of people—working people with real experience—driving policy change.
