DAY 65: RESILIENCE

Everywhere

One positive outcome of the pandemic is
a proliferation of webinars and online panel discussions that join minds and hearts from around the globe. One such webinar was held yesterday, coordinated by Local 2030 Islands Network.

It brought together thinkers of island states in places like the Caribbean, Fiji, and Hawai’i to discuss resilience, food security, human vulnerability, and inequity in the time
of natural disasters and the recent pandemic. What are ways to prepare for inevitable catastrophic events?

Panelists were: Kathy Baughman McLeod, Director, Adrienne Arsht–Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center; Roger Palwarty, Senior Scientist, NOAA; Pep Bardouille, Chief Executive Officer of the Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica (CREAD).
